We can double the standard of living for 90% of the population while at the same time achieving the
following:
No major wars or nuclear weapons.
The military budget reduced by half or more.
No unemployment, homelessness or starvation.
True personal freedoms: If it doesn't harm others it's OK.
Half the US prison population released.
Crime reduced by half or more.
No big fluctuations in the economy.
Free education and health care, with costs reduced by at least half.
Free broadband Internet access for everyone.
Free digital media, including music, movies and software.
An end to global warming and the energy crisis.
All this and more can be achieved simply by changing our minds. Changing our minds means changing
our policies about how we do things. When we do things better we get better results. It's that
simple.
The problem is getting people like you to change your mind. We have all been programmed to believe
in the value of ideas that have resulted in the world becoming the mess it is, and it is not going
to be easy for most people to accept that their ideas have been wrong. For example, we were all
taught to believe that business deregulation was a good thing, and most of us believed that till the
world financial market collapsed due to inadequate regulation. Few people listened to those
predicting impending disaster, and it is just as unlikely that people will listen to the ideas
presented here. But the truth is there ARE solutions to nearly all the problems facing society
across the globe. It is up to you to use your own sense of reason to determine the truth rather
than relying on "authorities" to tell you what to believe. If enough people are able to do that, we
can change the world.
Specific ideas are presented on the essays page. If you would like to see this work continued,
